A Message from the President - Rachel Merrill Regarding the latest win for our members Dear Members: CWA WINS APPELLATE COURT DECISION ON PLB DAYS! As you know, the State was trying to force our members to use all PLB days by June 30, 2012 and violate the MOA that permitted carryover and cash out of PLB days. PLB days were agreed to between the unions and the State in exchange for agreements to defer contractual raises and to take furlough days. . Download the official flier here |

Medco Reimbursments Attached is a letter to all CWA, AFT, AFSCME and IFPTE employees who were denied coverage under the Medco program and who paid more than the contractual co-pay for a prescription. Employees and covered dependents should submit requests for reimbursement pursuant to the October 2011 letter from the Division. We would encourage employees to copy the local on reimbursement requests. We will ask for a list of all CWA members to whom letters were sent. Please read carefully! The attached document contains instructions for getting reimbursement for any affected worker. Read letter and details here |

Medco Victory!! In another important victory for CWA, an arbitrator ruled that the State violated the State Worker Contract when it permitted Medco to unilaterally change our prescription drug plan. As a result of this decision, any worker who had to pay more than the $3, $10, or $25 copay will have to be reimbursed by their insurance company. Letter To Members From Chris Shelton "As you know we are facing a very difficult negotiation in the state worker contract, a disastrous budget and a dangerous legislature that may have a direct impact on every public sector member in this State. Governor Christie is looking to dismantle our pension system and shift 30% of healthcare costs to every government worker, and we are sure we will have a fight not only over wage increases, but possibly job security and more."
