President Obama Will Make Recess Appointment to National Labor Relations Board
Frustrated by Republican stonewalling, the White House has announced that President Obama will make key "Recess Appointments" while Congress is out of session.
Filling the National Labor Relations Board positions  will be Mark Gaston Pearce and Craig Becker

"The United States Senate has the responsibility to approve or disapprove of my nominees," Obama said in a written statement that also named the 15 individuals. "But if, in the interest of scoring political points, Republicans in the Senate refuse to exercise that responsibility, I must act in the interest of the American people and exercise my authority to fill these positions on an interim basis."

HEALTHCARE REFORM PASSES THE HOUSE

What’s so funny about cutting services to the poor, children, the elderly, the handicapped and the sick?

Everything, when you make sure that your friends making over $400,000.00 a year get their tax breaks.  Marie Antoinette said, “Let them eat cake”. Governor Christie wants to eat it and make sure his friends have plenty to go around.

Christie’s draconian proposals to cut health care to the poor, aide to the elderly, programs for blind children, education, and unemployment benefits while giving away $1 billion in taxes on the wealthy tells you what his priorities are. At the same time, he wants to eliminate seniority for workers, and privatize 2,000 jobs.

We need to stand up for those who can’t fight for themselves as well as protect our own futures.

Join us on Thursday at noon, to begin the fight for a just budget and to protest the attack on our jobs.

See your Shop Stewards for additional details. Remember to wear red!!

WEAR RED ON THURSDAYS

Let’s show that we are UNITED and Ready to Fight
For: Our Pension Plan, Our Job Security, Public Services, Collective Bargaining

Wear Red On Thursdays!

Over the next several months, we will be threatened with layoffs, the dismantling of our pension plan, and destruction of collective bargaining and the elimination of public services.

We don’t know if the fight will take place at the legislature, in the courts, or in the street – or all three places.

But we do know we want to send a clear message. We will fight to protect our jobs, protect state services, protect collective bargaining, and protect our pension plan

Wear some red piece of clothing every Thursday. Let’s show our Solidarity and our willingness to fight.
